Hi Duff, Having gone through this with Arleen, I have a slight understanding of all that you are going through. All I can do is pray and I do daily that St Peregrin will intercede on your behalf. Be strong, and take your Ensure, so you can get back on your feet... we need our emcee!

Hello Fr. Dave, You may not remember me, but I was a member of St. Helen's until my husband, Jerry, and I retired to Florida in 2006. I remember you as new to the parish in 2004 when you called me with words of encouragement when you heard I was going thru chemo for breast cancer. That meant a lot to me. I want to wish you complete recovery of your cancer and know that our prayers are with you.

Hi Father Dave! I'm sorry that you were thrown such a curve ball yesterday and that it's seems so impossible to eat. I will continue to pray for you, but I thought I'd share some advice that my best friend Jenny suggested. Being a bile duct cancer warrior herself and going through the same surgery, she said that the most tolerable food was soup with protein powder in it and homemade smoothies. She also said that you really need to make sure you're drinking plenty of fluids even if you don't feel like doing so. Try to keep your head up and know that you're loved!

I am Rita Leo's sister, in Florida. She is having her own problems and does not get out too much. I am keeping tabs of your operation and all comments by you and your niece. I am sending copies to Rita and she is making copies for other people in her parish. You are wished special blessings during your time of trials.

Fr. Dave, so sorry hear your most recent update today. I can't imagine how hard it was to get this news.
As a nurse try the clear Ensure. Tastes much better. Let us know if you need some.
When my mom got cancer 20-plus years ago we used rainbows as one of our images of healing. Because it takes sunshine and cloudy/rainy days to make rainbows.
So I'm continuing to pray for lots of sunshine and healing for you. Miss your smiling face!!!

Duff, the Bridgetown mafia is pulling for you as well. I’m sure the chemo will be a bump in the road and before you know it you will be back on your feet raising cane. Hope the ensure works although a stiff drink sounds better. Maybe a shot in the ensure will improve the taste. Hang in there. All the fastballs can’t be high and tight. Eventually you have to get a fat one over the middle of the plate. You just have to be ready for it. We love you and look forward to seeing you happy and healthy. George and Linda Clark.

It’s time to call in a higher power. I’m putting my mom on the job to get the word to the Most Virgin Mary! She always believed that Mary is just the one to get our message to her wonderful Son. Keep your chin up and know that we are wrapping you in prayer and ❤️! Always!!
