Journal entry by Jenny Schwab

Happy 79th birthday Forrest! It has been a long while since we have updated all of you about Forrest. Unfortunately, after a good run at The Heights, an assisted living facility in Brockton, he has been moved to Baypointe Rehabilitation Center.  He is really struggling with standing and walking, thus he is confined to a wheelchair or bed. He is not strong enough to pivot to help move himself from the chair to the bed or another chair. This means he can no longer be in assisted living and will be residing in a nursing home. He has had several falls as he lost this strength and while he thankfully didn't break any bones recently, we think his repeated head injuries have impacted his cognition in addition to his prior stroke.

Jan continues to try to take him to church, doctor's appointments, and out to dinner, but he is hard to transfer and it has become quite difficult for her to move him without help.

He doesn't have a phone as he continues to struggle to see the numbers and dial them correctly. Overall, his spirits are good, the facility is clean and the staff are attentive and very kind. They understand his humor and work with him so that everyone gets along. The address is 50 Christy's Place, Brockton, MA 02301, he is on the Cedarwood Floor and the main phone number 508-580-6800. You can ask to be transferred to Cedarwood and then ask them to bring the phone to Forrest if you want to speak with him.

Hold him in prayer and we hope that you all are enjoying this beautiful weather and have a wonderful summer.

Love and God Bless, Jenny
