Newest Update

Journal entry by Stacie Fleischman

Updating just shy of 1.5 years with a specific prayer request (or 3).

Troy has been battling kidney stones for more than 6 months. He had lithotripsy (sound wave blasting) in November, along with bladder stone removed in October with great success. In January 2023, they discovered more bladder stones as well as bilateral stones in the kidneys (one kidney stone is measuring approximately 16mm!!!!). He had the bladder stone removal in February and was scheduled for lithotripsy in April. That was cancelled and rescheduled (and the cancelled again) for May. See, our local hospital (and most in Tulare County) do not have their own machine - they use one that travels around to different hospitals, and the company continues to pull the machine from our hospital’s rotation for some reason, leaving the patients like Troy stranded.

We’ve been to several ERs in the last 2 weeks - usually in the middle of the night - to get some relief and answers. Because he doesn’t have an “urological emergency”, they won’t do anything.

We have appointments with UCSF (5/31), USC (6/9), and Kern Medical 7/18!!!), but they’re all “new patient” appts and THEN we wait for the procedure to be scheduled.

We pray daily for a miracle, and I’m asking our friends and family to join us in this prayer. We KNOW God can do miraculous works - He’s done so much already in Troy’s life.

Here are our most urgent requests for prayer:
💙 Treatment of the kidney stones. Whether miraculously or medically! And SOON!!
💙 Pain management in the meantime. Nighttime is the worst - he wakes up several times in the night with pain. It’s been awhile since we’ve slept though the night. We’re exhausted!
🩷 In addition, I’d covet your prayers for my employment next year. I’ve applied to some remote programs so I can continue to be available for Troy’s daily and medical needs. We’re praying that the Lord will open doors that we don’t even know are there to meet our needs.

Thank you for reading this update and for your faithful prayers. We continue to put our trust in Jesus and lean on the support of our support system - that’s YOU!!

Be blessed!
Troy, Stacie, and family
