Christopher’s Story

Site created on July 20, 2020

Our two year old son is in resolution from his battle with complex epilepsy and this is his story...

On Friday, June 5, 2020, Christopher Boykin Anderson joined the world at 3:38 AM at 7 lbs and 3 oz. We knew from the get-go that Christopher was special, our sweet miracle baby, for so many reasons.One week later, on Friday, June 12th, we were rushed to the hospital after Christopher had his first clinical seizure in my husband's lap. While there, we found out through MRI imaging that 60% of the right half of Christopher's brain was underdeveloped, which is why he'd been battling complex epilepsy since birth.

Christopher was named for a variety of reasons: 1) Because it was the only name my husband, Mike, and I agreed upon and 2) it means bearing the image of Christ. We also named him Boykin after my selfless Christlike grandfather, Richard Boykin Pool.

All around, I wear many hats. I am first and foremost a follower of Jesus. I am also a wife, I've been married to Michael Anderson for seven years (since June 28, 2015). I am also a sister, aunt, friend, teacher, sometimes a writer. I too grew up with epilepsy and know how hard it can be. I was talking with one of my friends at the beginning of this journey and she reminded me that I am not only Christopher's mother, I am his voice and his advocate too; and my pen is the strongest sword I can use to fight his battle and author the words that he cannot speak.SO welcome to his story. A story that is still unfinished and filled with so much hope. I have quite literally seen GOD move mountains in my own life and expect no different for our son. Thank you for joining "Moving Mountains: Christopher's Story." We pray his life is just one more way you too can watch GOD move mountains just one more time. {{Jeremiah 29:10-14}}

May GOD bless you and keep you always! May He bless you as you have blessed us with your prayers, support, and love over this past year!

Lots of love,
the Andersons & the Wilhelms

Newest Update

Journal entry by Laura Anderson

Christopher update coming soon….. In the meantime, someone celebrated their 1 YEAR HEMIVERSARY on September 30, 2022!!

This means: ONE WHOLE YEAR post-hemi, ONE WHOLE YEAR no seizures, ONE WHOLE YEAR we haven’t had to go back and forth in and out of the hospital, ONE WHOLE YEAR of no more keto, and ONE WHOLE YEAR of beauty from ashes! And what a year it has been!! We cannot wait to see where Christopher is even one year from now!

Thank you all for the continued love, prayers, and support. Our little mountain mover is moving mountains bit by bit because of your continued faithfulness to pray! It truly means so so much!

To God be the glory,
The Anderson Clan
