Journal entry by Tristian Jasper Sandico

The first week of August 2019, I experienced severe abdominal pain and I was bleeding out of my rectum. I was rushed to the hospital and was given blood transfusion, protein, and IV fusion due to my critical condition.
I was diagnosed with familial adenomatous polyposis.
I have multiple polyps in my stomach and severely inflamed polyps in my colon. I underwent proctocolectomy with ileostomy and portacath incision. I now permanently have a colostomy(stool bag) to collect/pass my stools in the right side of my stomach.

The operation took 7 hours. There were two big masses that were the size of two large eggs. These two masses were glued to my pelvic bone and bladder. The doctors successfully removed my entire colon and rectum with my bladder and pelvic intact. A biopsy was done and it was revealed to me that I have Stage 2 Colon Cancer.
I was advised to start my chemotherapy, as soon as I am healed from my Surgery, which will be in early 2020. Although, with 2 kids and a wife who took on the job as my full time nurse, I am unable to work to support my family.

I hope you can find it in your hearts to donate for my medical needs, supplies, and expenses. Each chemo session cost around PHP100,000 ($2,000) excluding medicine and other expenses. I will not be treated unless I pay upfront. My insurance/health card was already maxed out from my hospitalization.
Thank you for spending your precious time reading my story and for spreading awareness. God bless you all.

Sincerely,
Tristian Jasper Sandico
