Journal entry by Cami Havelka

After a trip to Mayo we didnt get the news we were hoping for.  Since her body has so many things to heal, her bone healing is a slower process.  When we looked at her pelvic Xrays the smaller fractures have healed but the major breaks have not.  The danger of this is the breaks are like knife edges so she still has no weight baring or she could sever an artery or nerve.  It's all scary stuff.

She goes home for another 2 months of "bed ridden" status (she can still do burst of short walker walks and sitting).  She is hating laying around, but with her body healing she sleeps most of the time.

Faythlynn got her wrist cast off, and had a custom splint made (it was sooooo cool).  The splint is so she can start OT and PT so she has a better chance of regaining her total movement in her hand and wrist.

Right now the internal organs (spleen, kidney, liver, lung and artery) are healing better than expected.  They feel they are almost healed 100%.  She still has frontal lobe swelling from her cranium breaks (I think that's the technical jargon!) So sleep, rest, and repeat is the best medicine.

So, we go back home and rest.  Hoping for a better result when we go back in October.
