Welcome to Evie's CaringBridge website. We plan on using it to keep family and friends updated. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting, please leave a note. Evie enjoys visitors but at this time she has nearly no immune system, so all visitors need to be in very healthy conditions. Thank you! 


On February 28th, Evie Kahnke, the 17 year-old daughter of Chad & Hollie Kahnke of Florence, South Dakota was diagnosed with Acute Myloid Luekima. 

Evie is an all-around athlete that has been active in rodeo, volleyball, basketball, and track for many years, also participating in FFA and 4-H. When not competing, you could find her helping on the family ranch. Evie is an intelligent, faithful & optomisitc young lady with lots of grit. Currently, she is recieving chemotherapy at the Sanford Children’s Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Evie’s bone marrow transplant will take place within the next 4-6 months at the University of Minnesota. Her older sister, Emily, is an identical bone marrow match and will be the donor. The Kahnke family appreciates everyone’s continued support & prayers during this time.

Our family would like to thank you all for everything that you have done for us since Evie was diagnosed on February 28. Whether it was feeding the kids, fencing, chores, calving, hauling, manure, planting, gift cards, cash, the list goes on and on. Also a huge thank you to everyone that donated and showed up for the benefit and to Women In Action for everything they did. Words can't describe how thankful we are for all the support and prayers you have given us during this difficult time.
