Journal entry by Evelyn Isham —
Oh Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you; I will praise your name; for you have done wonderful things, plans formed of old, faithful and sure (Isaiah 25:1)
I started my new treatment on January 31, which consisted of a 30 minute infusion every three weeks, with a CT to be done after the third treatment. That treatment was last Wednesday, Mar. 13. I had the CT done yesterday and got a text with the results last night at 8:30, I saw a word I hadn't seen in a long time, That word was DECREASE in size, indicating that the nodules they were comparing from my last scan have reduced their size by about 50%. That is proof that the treatment is working! All of my CT scans done at Duke showed slight increase in size. So the word "decrease" was a sight for sore eyes. I wanted to share this news with all my friends, family and prayer warriors. You all are part of this good news because I know that God has heard our prayers.
So far I have not had any troublesome side effects from the Avastin that I'm on, God is faithful!
I have one prayer request to add - I am having a CT Angiography on Monday, Mar. 25 to look at the vessels around my heart. I have a couple of risk factors which have been with me for several years. I had a cardio ultrasound a couple of weeks ago, and everything looked good, This upcoming CT will take a closer look at the blood flow around my heart,
Another positive note - my hair is coming back - albeit mostly gray and white. As it gets long enough to color, I will probably be checking in with Miss Clairol, or maybe I'll just keep it like it is.
I know God's hand was in this and I'm praising Him for this blessing.
