Newest Update

Journal entry by Marty Melone

Hello Friends and Saints

It's been some time since I've posted, so I wanted to provide an update.

Vangie was supposed to see her new cardiologist on Monday October 23, but she she had an afib event and we could not go.  It took a couple of days for the afib to resolve. Afib has been an issue since we have been home. We did see her PCP on Wednesday, and after he examined her, he prescribed her a calcium channel blocker to help with the afib, and reduced her amlodopine by half because her feet were swelling.

She started on the new medicine a couple of days after that.  In between, and since then, we have been declaring words of healing over her every day using scripture and a book by Charles Capps titled "God's Creative Power For Healing."  It reinforces what I, and you, my brothers and sisters in Christ, have been doing all along - declaring things that are not, as though they are.  We declared that her heart would beat with the rhythm of life, and her blood pressure would be 120/80.  And to the glory of God, Vangie's blood pressure has not been more than 120/80, even without medicine sometimes,  and her afib is reduced!  We are speaking life into her, and God is faithful to continue to complete the work he began in her in November 2021.

Today was a special day for Vangie.  Because of what happened to her, she was wondering if she could still play the ukulele.  She picked one up today and tried to play some chords, but had a hard time. She said "maybe I'll remember guitar chords better."  So I gave her the guitar.  In front of her was the song "God, You're So Good."  She strummed a few chords,  but really had trouble seeing the sheets.  So word by word and chord by chord, we worked together, with me pointing to the words and the chord changes, and she played the whole song!  Oh my goodness we both just cried and praised the Lord for his goodness!  It was a significant milestone for her!

In Psalm 118, which I have quoted before,  it says "he will not die, he will live, and proclaim the works of the Lord."  That verse came to me again today as I looked out our window and saw that all of our summer flowers are still in bloom.  It was as if God was showing us and the beautiful community we live in that He sustained us while we were gone, and we are alive, coming back to proclaim the works of the Lord!  We serve such an awesome God!

Please agree with me in prayer that Vangie will be made completely healed and whole, and for her upcoming therapy evaluation on Tuesday.  We are so blessed by all of you, who practice the love of the Father in all that you say and do.

With much love and appreciation,
Marty and Evangeline,  together as one
