Journal entry by Chris Demone —
Hello, friends! Sorry for the long pause in updates, but things have been relatively unremarkable. This coming Friday, Erin will receive the last of the "bad" chemo treatments. She has been receiving 2 drugs simultaneously, and this week will be the final dose of the nasty one. Beginning on the 21st, she will receive a larger dose of the long-term one, which, we're told, has very few side effects.
Speaking of side effects, the biggest one continues to be overwhelming fatigue. Occasionally she experiences nausea and dizziness, but she has increasingly needed more and more rest with each passing treatment. She can't wait to finish up this round of chemo so that she can get her energy back.
We'll have more to share as she moves into the next phase. Along with the aforementioned chemo changes, there's also radiation left to go, so Erin's journey continues. In the meantime, we have so many thank-yous to give to all of our wonderful friends and family. The love and support you've shown us throughout this process have been touching, humbling, welcome, much needed, and very greatly appreciated. I don't want to mention everyone by name for fear of missing someone -- but please know that Erin is keeping a list so that she may personally express her gratitude to all of you.
