Hey Erin! Many prayers heading your way! I can’t help but think with a name like Amuplla of Vater that there aren’t some bad Star Wars jokes to be had somewhere. :) Sounds like a major surgery, but getting a good surgeon makes all of the difference, and it sounds like you got an excellent surgeon.
Erin…You are in the BEST hands with Dr Sherman!!! He is my surgeon as well. My surgery was end of 2020 and he got ALL of my trouble spots without having to do anything but scrape a couple spots on my intestines. Otherwise he took out my 10cm appendix, gall bladder, both ovaries, cervix and abdominal lining. I was told up to 2 weeks as well and I busted out on my 5th day!! Walking after the 2nd day was tough and wore me out quickly but once they told me my goal to get out, I pushed my walking further just to get home. No one can heal better than in their own home. You’ll get NO sleep up there with all of the probing and machines beeping as they go empty 🙄 But I will say I had some of the best nurses up there. Last night there a questionable one but I told her how things were going 😂 oh and one guy nurse at night wore too much cologne 🤮
Protein shakes will be recommended to give you extra protein because your appetite will be null!!
