Though I have only met Marcia, I want to virtually hug you all, Marcia, Becky and Jenny. What a special man you had as a father. And how special and wonderful people you are. I am sure the past several months have been very, very tiring emotionally and physically. Thank you, thank you, thank you for putting down and sharing with us Erik's words. For bringing us closer to his mind and heart. Love, ozlem.

Dear Marcia, Becky and Jenny,
Andy and I send our love, and we are so saddened by this loss. From afar, it feels hard to believe that Erik won't be energetically biking over the next time we are in Madison. Erik's blog entries over these last few weeks have been so profound. He was a remarkable person to the very end. I am glad to read that he was able to die peacefully, surrounded by love. Our hearts go out to you as you face this loss.
With much love,
Wendy Strimling and Andy Szasz

Dear Marcia, Becky, and Jenny, I send you all hugs and join you in mourning Erik's passing. He would a wonderful colleague when I was at Madison and it goes without saying that his mark on the field of sociology is large and important. Yesterday I taught Marxist approaches in my Law & Organizations Seminar and, in part as a tribute to Erik, I showed the wonderful video that his students made about the shmoos. I wish you all the best although I know it will be a difficult adjustment. Laurie

Hi Becky, I'm 53 years old and I'm a sociologist. I first heard of Erik when I was in college, aged 18/19 (?), and Erik Olin Wright was already some kind of legend on class analysis, a brilliant mind who had had the ability to built something powerful and beautiful. I've never meet him in person, and so this Caringbridge site gave me the opportunity to know a bit more of him as the wonderful person he was.
I'm very grateful to all of you, and specially to Erik, for this opportunity. The world is better place to live on due to people like Erik.
All the best to you all.
Paulo

It's really sad, but I'm happy to read it was quick and that you were together supporting him and each other. A big hug from a stranger who was touched by Erik Olin Wright work.
