Eric’s Story

Site created on November 25, 2018

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

As many of you already know, Eric suffered many serious injuries including a traumatic brain injury, a collapsed lung, skull fractures, and broken collar bone and scapula after a fall from his roof on November 23rd. He required a life saving brain surgery and continues to need critical care. His road to recovery will be a long, gradual one as he will need a prolonged hospitalization, further surgeries, and rehabilitation. Please check this page for updates on Eric's condition and specific prayer needs.

Journal entry by Sherry Swanson

As summer approaches Eric is amazingly continuing to improve. He no longer uses his cane to steady himself when walking. He recently, one day while Amy was inside working from home, went outside and unloaded many bags of pine bark mulch from the back of Andrews truck ! He wheelbarrowed those to the back yard lifting and tossing them to the ground! There was a little loss of balance but he was able to recover his center of gravity . I received a video also of him push mowing the front yard ! The never ending will of his is what takes him farther daily! He is currently working on cell phone skills saying “It’s about time!”  We continue to pray for complete speech restoration, which improves daily!   We continue to praise the Lord daily for this continued recovery ! What a powerful name it is, The name of Jesus!
