Journal entry by Emily Walker

It's hard for me to fathom where the last two months have gone! After moving out of Boise it has been a complete blur! And it's hard to know if that is from all the doctors' appointments or the drugs! I am currently 3 chemo treatments down. On my treatment weeks I mostly feel intensely tired, while on my off weeks I feel much more myself but still pretty sleepy.

Last week was pretty rough on the whole family as we had to put our beloved Gracie down. For those who never had the pleasure of meeting her, Gracie was our 14-year-old chocolate lab, who never knew a stranger and was loved by all who met her. The loss came at an already emotionally trying time for the family but was the best choice for our sweet old girl. This new challenge also came with a complete onslaught of love, prayers, and gifts from our wonderful friends and family. To all those who have reached out recently, allow me to convey our utmost gratitude and love!

Moving forward, I have been preparing for imminent hair loss by looking at wigs and headwraps, and had my hair cut into a bob today to make it all easier to manage.

On the 20th of this month, I will have my fourth and final treatment of this chemo cycle. My doctor will then repeat the PET CT scan to determine how this treatment has affected the cancer. If there are still significant areas of cancer we will likely do another 4 chemo treatments. If there are only a few small areas we will opt for targeted radiation treatments to zap those last few bits. And if the cancer is completely gone, well then we'll just have a party!

Thank you all for your thoughts, prayers, good vibes, and support! I will check back in and will hopefully have good news to share with you next time!
