Emily’s Story

Site created on July 23, 2019

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using this site to keep family and friends updated on Emily's surgery and recovery.

Friday, July 26th Emily will have surgery  at University of Kansas Medical Center to partially remove a right sided thaiamic and brainstem glioma.

Recently Emily began experiencing numbness.  An MRI indicates the tumor is producing fluid causing her symptoms and intervention is necessary.  The surgery will drain the fluid and remove as much of the tumor as possible.  If all goes as planned, she will spend a few days in the ICU followed by 1-2 weeks in the hospital.  From there, she will move to rehab.

Updates will be posted when possible and pertinent.

We appreciate your support, prayers and words of hope and encouragement.  Love to you all and thank you for visiting.
