Journal entry by Linda Granath

We celebrated my Emily’s life yesterday at her favorite restaurant and bar Atkins Park in Atlanta.  I was reluctant to attend and I guess it was because I was afraid it would become a reality that she was truly not with us anymore. There were about 80 friends attending and lots of stories and lots of laughter.   It was truly a wonderful day   I would like to share what I read to this wonderful group of friends

In 1987 I brought into this world a beautiful baby girl with curly hair and big blue eyes
I knew that this baby would
make love stronger
Days shorter
Nights Longer
Bankroll smaller
Our home happier
The past forgotten and the
future worth living
My Emily was always happy and smiling.  Everyone loved her.  She was kind, giving and cute as a button.  She enjoyed every moment of life and was always looking for an adventure.  She loved her life, her family and her friends
One time we were driving home at night from Florida.   I thought all three of my children were sleeping.  In the middle of the silence I heard her say,” Mom, have you ever touched a star”. Now as she is in heaven I’m sure that she has touched that star just as she touched every heart here at this gathering.  Thank you for coming to celebrate my beautiful girls life
