Elsa’s Story

Site created on April 28, 2021

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting. As some of you may or may not know, around Christmastime, Elsa fell in her home and broke her back. On January 1, 2021 she had surgery to repair her broken back and that is where this current saga began.

She started out the new year at St. Mary's  Hospital for emergency back surgery performed by the head of Orthopedics, Dr. Kenneth Hsu. The surgery repaired the break, however, the wound became infected. Since then she has been back and forth from the hospital to the skilled nursing facility while she, and the doctors, try to battle the infections.   Unfortunately, they were unsuccessful and the infection got into the metal.

We will make journal entries from time to time to keep you all informed as to what is happening.  Please note that this website asks for donations but they are for the website, not for Elsa.
