I think about you guys often! We keep a picture of Elowyn on our bulletin board and I pray for you all whenever I see her sweet face. I don’t have any wise words to share, just sorrow for the grief and pain that you’re carrying. You are loved and missed!

I pray for you all daily. I have her memorial program on my kitchen table. For some reason, I have not been able to put it away. I look at that sweet face and say a prayer. Love and prayers for all of you.

You and Kevin are in my prayers and in my heart daily. This journey has been brutal, and grief still lurks around every corner, every memory. I'm simply clinging to God's promises to carry us through and accomplish something good even in the middle of something so terrible. Meanwhile, the pain is palpable, and I find solace only in Jesus and cherishing the memory of sweet Elowyn's smile.

Dear Paige, when I see Elowyn in my memory, I see a portrait of your family. First is Kevin's shock of wild hair, then is your purely beautiful smile with just a hint of mischief around the corners, and sandwiched between are Maggie's glorious blue eyes. Even though I didn't know Elowyn very well, her face pops into my thoughts without warning. When this happens, I say a prayer for you and your family.
This last week, I was rearranging some of my beads and came across the sweet, soft flower bead I chose at the celebration of Elowyn's life. No matter how often I re organize my beads, this one unique little flower shows up when I least expect it. I have wanted to reach out and let you know that you and your sweet family has not been forgotten. I never thought of entering my thoughts and prayers for you here on the Caring Bridge. Thank you for the reminder.
Thank you for the priceless gift of you heart and thoughts. It is humbling to be trusted with such pain and beauty. I think of the milestones you pass on this journey as the standing stones I saw in Israel. Standing stones beg us to ask, "What happened in this place?" "Why is it important to remember?" As we walk this path with you through your words, thank you for pointing out the standing stones and recounting your memories of Elowyn so they will not be forgotten.
In Israel, I also learned the phrase... May her memory be for a blessing, forever.

My favorite feature of Elowyn was how wonderfully squishy she was. And those eyes that look like the doorway to paradise. They will always be burned into my mind, reminding me that life is fleeting.

I don’t feel like I have the privilege to speak to your pain because I have not lost a child. I wish so much to take on some of the pain, so it’s not so heavy a burden. I can testify that in my personal struggles, complete honesty with God, calls me to define what I truly believe about Him. Is He good? I choose yes, even when life circumstances yell at me, “No!” I believe that, just like Elowyn found comfort in your trusted arms as a little child, we, too, can melt into the Father’s arms like a child. If God is who He says He is, there is always hope, eternal.
Praying for you and your beautiful family as I write this 🤍

”O Lord, you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways. Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O Lord, you know it altogether. You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high; I cannot attain it. Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence? If I ascend to heaven, you are there! If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there! If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me. If I say, “Surely the darkness shall cover me, and the light about me be night,” even the darkness is not dark to you; the night is bright as the day, for darkness is as light with you.“
