Newest Update

Journal entry by Erin Thiele

We haven't updated in a month and a lot has happened! On July 20th Ella had her end of treatment MRI and lp. Both came back clear so she got to ring the bell. Her port was removed this Monday. She hasn't thrown up in over a week and her energy is starting to come back. She still has a very long way to go but it's so nice to know she won't get knocked back down by the chemo anymore. Her therapists are increasing the intensity of her sessions with the goal of getting her back to in person school in October, though I'm honestly not sure if that is going to happen so we are looking at homeschooling options as well. The therapy I'm most excited about is hippotherapy. She's already improved in balance enough to not need aides holding on to her legs on either side of the horse. Our pool is also finally finished and she can walk unassisted in the shallow end so she is having a lot of fun with the independence that gives her.
