Elizabeth’s Story

Site created on February 23, 2022

Return to your rest, my soul, for the Lord has been good to you.  Psalm 116:7

Twenty five years ago, before I was married, I was diagnosed with Polycythemia Vera (a blood cancer).  I was told at that time that I would need a bone marrow transplant in the next two years.  The Lord has given me all of this time and three wonderful children which I was told I could never have.

Last week I received the call I knew would be coming one day.  The bone marrow transplant needs to take place within 4-6 weeks (beginning of April). This week I will start with five days of chemo.  I will then have a week off and rotate like this until I go into the hospital for the transplant.

We will use this site for all communication. We appreciate all of the offers to help and will let you know as needs arise through this site.

If there is anything specific you would like to know or do to help, please reach out to my sister-in-law, Brenda, who will be helping coordinate care for me.  Her email address is stampinbren@gmail.com.

Please note:  If you make a contribution using the "Tribute" tab, please be aware that this contribution goes to the CaringBridge organization and does not benefit the Johnsons.  We are using this site for communication purposes and not collecting any donations.
