Journal entry by Sandra De Leon

First, I would like to apologize for not keeping you all up-to-date on everything that has been going on for the past 4 months. It got to a point where I just didn’t want to really talk about the details of the good or bad days. Didn’t want to talk about her vomiting for 2 weeks straight, receiving platelets, blood transfusions, losing more weight, feeling fatigue, weak, nauseated, headaches, weak muscles, backaches, bruising, losing her hair again, going through physical therapy all has been quite challenging. Needless to say Liz has managed to keep smiling through all this SHIT! She is doing well in school, her hair is coming in again, she’s been finally putting on weight. Below is a list of all her treatment dates from where I last left off to the more recent today.

Oct 6, 2021 Liz will begin a new round of Chemo Treatment. This will be on going for 60 days and I Stress this should be her last round of aggressive chemo treatment (This is called DELAYED INTENSIFICATION) She will be getting LP plus chemo today 10/6/21, and for the next two week chemo every other day. (10/11/21, 10/13/21, 10/15/21, 10/17/21, 10/19/21, 10/21/21) Within this doctor visit we talked about Liz being able to receive her 1st Covid Vaccine.

Oct 27, 2021 Clinic visit

Oct 29, 2021 Liz visited an Allergist Doctor (Doctor tested Liz to see if she will have an allergic reaction to the Covid Vaccine. Apparently the covid vaccine has an ingredient, that was one of Liz’s chemo medicine, that caused Liz to have a severe allergic reaction. (Liz is a go to get Covid Shot)

Nov 3, 2021 This is day 29 of 60. Since Liz is count dependent and she did not make counts, she will not receive Lumbar puncture/spinal tap nor Chemo. (We will trying again next week)

Nov 10, 2021 Liz made counts, therefore received Lumbar puncture/spinal tap & Chemo Treatment.

On Dec 8, 2021 Liz will be entering the next phase of Treatment. Called MAINTENANCE From what I understand she will soon have monthly visits to the clinic, she will still receive some Lumbar punctures/spinal taps and her Chemo medications will now be oral.

On Dec 13, 2021 Liz is scheduled to receive her 1st Covid Vaccine. (Let’s pray she doesn’t have an allergic reaction)
