Eli’s Story
Welcome to our CaringBridge website for Eli. Eli’s dad, Ben and I are so grateful for all of your love and support, we are definitely feeling the love! As you may know, we found a tumor on Eli’s left arm that was eventually diagnosed as Undifferentiated  Pleomorphic Sarcoma (say that 5 times fast). We were planning on having Eli go through chemo therapy then surgery followed by another round of chemo. That plan changed on Friday when he fractured his arm while taking a nap and rolling over on it. We are currently waiting for Eli to get out of surgery to remove the tumor and reconstruct the bone where the weak bone was and to try and remove as much of the cancer cells around the break. Eli will be staying at OHSU for the next few days recovering and I will be giving updates on this website. Thanks again for the love and support and prayers!

Journal entry by Lea Jacobson

Hi all! We made it through the holidays. Eli was able to spend Christmas at home with us. Ben, Eli and I all spent a fun Christmas Eve at Benihana, one of Eli’s favorite places. He spent New Years Eve in the hospital, which I know he was bummed about because he wanted to see his buddies. We are currently in the hospital but hoping to be released today or tomorrow. His spirits have still been pretty good but I know he is really looking forward to April when we are scheduled to be done with chemo. He did have a wonderful trip to Florida with Ben to watch the Bills play the Dolphins. We are waiting for him to decide where he wants to go for his “Make A Wish” trip...I’m assuming it will be somewhere warm and sunny. Hope everyone had a great holiday and thank you for the continued thoughts and prayers!
