Eli’s Story

Site created on January 10, 2021

On December 20th Eli was admitted to the hospital under severe respiratory distress due to Covid. At the time he was put on a high flow venilator with only the ability to breathe by himself 8%. On Christmas Eve he stopped breathing twice and coded only to be brought back to life by the staff of the hospital. On Christmas Day he was provided plasma and additional experimental treatments in hopes that he would improve. After 13 days in the hospital he was able to breathe on his own but it's suffering severe symptoms from the aftermath of this infection. I have started a go fund me account To help with the financial burden that we will be incurring as bill start to roll in. Since his release 2 days ago he has been back in the hospital with severe pain in other issues associated covid. If anything please pray and send your love as he has a battle to fight in a long recovery time. I had him back in this evening where he has been admitted as they check for life threatening Issues such as DVT's And aneurisms. He was originally diagnosed on December 14th and is still showing positive at this time. As I have updates I will post them for Eli as he is not able to do so at this time. If you would like to donate please donate to the go fund me and if you have any questions please send me a message. We are just truly blessed that he survived this ordeal and we are going one day at a time

Newest Update

Journal entry by Eli Shuster

Today was a repeat of every day this week except I had a pretty bad day today.  Did some shopping as we needed to get some dog food and some things at home depot.   The morning started out good, but the lovenox shots i have been taking do take a toll on your body since they are blood thinners.  On top of that you are restricted as to where you can do the shots. The prime area is the belly and flanks. With.thst said.both look like I went through a boxing match, black/ blue/yellow/rainbow.  Oh and they burn!!

So after my adventures today I came home and was completely exhausted and was pretty useless.  I went to the garage to get a drill and I think I passed out and fell hard not sure if did or not but do not remember exactly what happened.

I have some.appointments this week SonicWall get checked out.

Also exciting news. After 2 months I am released for work!!!  I start on the 15rh.
