Elijah's eye surgery went well! The doctor said his cataracts were worse than he could see in the clinic, the back of his lens was like graveled glass. Elijah wore an eye protector after surgery until his appointment today. He seemed happy to have it off! It seems Elijah's vision has already improved a bit just one day later! His vision uncorrected is already better than it was before when corrected. The doctor said he doesn't typically see that this early. Praise the Lord! It will take about a month for his eye to heal and vision to normalize. He will have 3 different eye drops 2x and 4x each day for a week or so and an antibiotic ointment each night with his eye protector on as well.
At dinner Elijah said "everything looks brighter". 🥹 A bitter sweet monent- joyful that his vision is better, sad that it has been affected for who knows how long.
