Bernadette Walters, London, England:
So sorry to hear of Eleanor's departure from life. We met several times in the USA, Switzerland and London via our friendships with Gill and Bob Hacker. Eleanor was my kind of lady: interesting, funny, easy to talk to and a great travel guide to me when visiting Chicago. I have very fond memories of a very relaxing lunch with her; a good California red in hand after a heavenly visit to the Chicago Museum of Art .
Another enjoyable recollection is of my husband and I visiting Eleanor and Harley with Gill and Bob. Harley showed us his wonderful model airplane that he planned to donate to a museum. I hope and imagine that Eleanor led a life as interesting as she was herself. It was a great pleasure and honour to know her. May she ever rest in peace.

So sorry to hear Eleanor is gone......but surely not forgotten for the kind and caring and brilliant person she was.
Thank you ,Karen for sharing her final journey with us. We met you at Harley’s funeral....you were a delight to speak with and Eleanor always proclaimed what a loving niece you are. She shared some of family times, and always enjoyed them.
We will miss Eleanor .....the garden club Christmas dinners, the Panera breakfasts,
the sharing of her extensive book lists. It was a privilege to know Eleanore.
