Journal entry by Annie Ermlick —
After the gathering of a vast amount of information, communicating with her doctors and talking with mom, we have decided not to move ahead with any risky procedures and to move into the direction of comfort care. The biopsy will not cure anything and they don't feel she would survive it or be cleared for the procedure. It would be nice to know the stage of cancer and how aggressive it is (grade), what to expect and timelines but she has so many other health issues who knows which one is the one that will take my beautiful mom from us. This is one of hardest things I have ever had to face and a heavy weight on my heart and shoulders. I am so thankful for our family and friends support and love. Now onto making mom have the best holiday season possible. The blessing here is that a few minutes after the talk, she will forget all of it and sometimes ignorance is bliss I suppose.
