Eileen’s Story

Site created on December 5, 2019

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Recently Eileen was diagnosed with HER2 positive Invasive Ductal Breast Cancer. We have had so many wonderful friends and family reach out to ask how she is doing and hope this page will serve as not only encouragement for her, but as a means of communication for her treatment. The smallest of hello's make the largest impact so please don't be shy and feel free to add/question anything you would like here!
Because she is HER2 positive (this means the cancer spreads more quickly but the good news is it was found early), her treatment will be specifically targeted to control that rapid growth. It is amazing what they have discovered in terms of treatment. The plan is to do chemo 1st (she will have chemo every 3 weeks for 4-6 rounds), then surgery (more specifics tbd post chemo). While we know it's going to be a rough road ahead and she has to face many obstacles, we know she will get through this!

Just an FYI, we are NOT looking for donations, not sure why it popped up on this site! This site is just to keep everyone updated and to journal/share/question.
