I consider myself lucky and fortunate to have met John and become friends with him in 1992. We lived in the same NYC (East Village) apartment building (studios so small that beds were across from stove) and we got to know each other. Through John I met other friends of his, including Andrew who married my wife's high school friend, so if it were not for meeting and befriending John, I would not have met my wife and fallen into the good life that I have. The other interesting part of the story is that I ended up in Buffalo where Lisette grew up. So there is my proof that John was an old soul and my life is better because I met him and got to know him. My memories of him during the 1990s include Webster Hall, bands at CBGBs, rollerblading in Central Park, movies at the Angelika, Halloween parties, hanging out at KGB bar and other assorted East Village haunts. I will always feel connected to him, and my sympathies go out to Lisette, Anders, Finn, and John's extended family. Ryon Fleming
