Journal entry by Dana Duncan-Davis

Eddie completed the first round of chemo this week. He went in once per day for five days. He felt fine for most of the week but by the end of the week starting feeling tired and now is having some digestive system difficulties. In January he will begin a chemo/radiation regimen for 6 weeks. Right now Eddie is laying low, and just staying home and watching lots of Netflix. He is trying his best to eat enough calories so he can get off the feeding tube- it’s annoying, the site gets sore and it leaks. He hates it!! It’s hard to eat, though because he doesn’t really feel hungry, and too much of anything at once can cause pain and other problems. He eats little things throughout the day and keeps a food journal to track it.  All in all things could be a lot worse and we are grateful for lots of things. We wish everyone a happy, healthy holiday season.
