When I was researching grad schools for a criminal justice degree, I came across Dr. Latessa’s presentations on YouTube. I live in North Carolina but knew instantly that Cincinnati was the program—focused on rehabilitating human beings— for me. I earned my master’s degree online, but I flew up to Cincinnati in 2019 (just months before graduating) just to sit down with him. We met just once but he is like my mentor. My wife laughs at me because I walk around the house often with one AirPod in, listening to those speeches about what works and what is “correctional quackery.”

My sincere condolences go out to all who knew and loved him. He and his work will live on.

Frank...what a great tribute to Ed. Thank you for taking the time and effort to provide so many examples of how Ed influenced the lives of many. it is ironic that Harry Allen and Ed Latessa passed within months of each other.

Now that was beautiful. Without sounding too religious, your Dad lived the Gospel. Love one another. My daughter in law graduated from UC. She loved and respected Ed. I met him once and he was not one to ever forget. He is at peace. He's smiling.
