Journal entry by Nora Clemens —
Mima ended her journey on this earth today. She was about the same in the morning as the previous day, then before Anita and I had arrived to be with her for the day, her breathing changed. We received a call from the hospice nurse to let us know this, suggesting we come in soon. We both drove to the hospice house immediately but by the time we arrived, she had passed away. The nurse that had been with her for most of her days there was at her side when she passed away.
WE wanted to be there for that moment but obviously it was not meant to be. We're so comforted to know that this beautiful nurse was with our Mima when she went to her celestial home. While no one wants their loved one to be at the hospice house, nor do you want to be a family member at the hospice house, if the end of life is close, the hospice house is a very special and unique place that provides end of life care in the most magnificent way. The tender way in which they care for patients and family is unbelievable. Our deepest appreciation for these medical angels.
It's a bittersweet time... we are hurting so much, it's a deep loss for us. We are relieved that Mima can rest in peace now. We were blessed to have her for so many years, a precious gift. We are so very thankful for your love, prayers and support during this time.
