Journal entry by Kevin Clowe —
Ed and Daisy’s big swim
In the midst of a two week forecast of wind and rain, we were “gifted” with a 12 hour window of flawless Hawaiian weather. Up before dawn to gather flowers, I found myself at the beach without my camera/phone. Instinctively, I reached out to a fellow beach goer and humbly inquired if she would be willing to blindly trust me, a complete stranger, with her private info. Without hesitation she accepted my request and graciously forwarded a selection of incredible photos. Mahalo nui loa, Jocelyn. 🙏
The morning proceeded flawlessly and as soon as the last of the flowers were offered and we prepared to relocate, the rain came to give us her blessing. Very light at first, followed by increasingly larger drops on the drive home. By the time family and friends began to arrive, the rain had stopped and the day returned to it’s former glory.
As evening approached the suggestion was made that we should return to the beach for a pizza party. What awaited us was, perhaps, the most beautiful confirmation of God’s love that I have ever witnessed. Twin rainbows sat motionless in the sky in the exact spot we where had honored our loved ones for the entire time we were there. We marveled at how they would brighten up from time to time, but they would not move…holding their position as the Sun slowly set and squelched their brilliance from the bottom up. And, oh yes, another drizzle of rain to confirm the process…
Such an outpouring of Love for these amazing souls…I thank each and everyone of you for your contribution.
