Earl’s Story

Site created on April 30, 2019

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Earl was diagnosed with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis)/Lou Gehrig's disease in May, 2018. At that time Earl was walking with a cane. The progression has been very rapid leading to Earl's current state. Earl is unable to walk, he is losing functionality in his arms and hands, and he has difficulty swallowing and speaking. Care providers have prepared Earl and family with the news that he may only have days to weeks left.

Earl is at Oaklawn Health Care Center in Mankato. If you would like to visit, please check with Barbara first (by text). Visits should be short as Earl tires easily.

One last note: A Celebration of Life for Earl will be August 3rd at Mankato Brewery from 3-9. Please let me know if you are coming and how many you are bringing so I have enough food. Please in lieu of flowers, etc., please send your support to the ALS Association at als.org or alsmn.org

Thank you for all your love and support for both Earl and me. So appreciated! ❤️❤️❤️
