Margaret, thank you for posting on Dwight's site faithfully for three years. If you start a Margaret Peterson blog, even if not a daily one, I would sign up. I will miss hearing from you every morning.
Love,
Thanks, Margaret for allowing so many of us who have known you and Dwight to remain in touch during this long process. And it was wonderful to hear of Mark Achtemeier, another name from our time at Duke together.
Your strong and mature faith continues to educate and inspire so many of us. Bless you and Mark on your continued journey.
Thank you for your faithfulness. I appreciate your decision to stop the daily posts. It may happen, or it may not, that you find yourself at a later date wanting to write something that would be appreciated by this audience. You may still want on a few occasions to post here, and I can testify that many who miss Dwight and love you and Mark will still appreciate those occasional moments. You have done a great work here, and I hope you realize that. As my students and friends tell me, the ability to walk with me through the days of dealing with approaching death, the time of death, and the aftermath of death are a rare gift. Moreover to have it interpreted by one who is in the midst of the struggle, and to have the insight of faithful service to God integrated into the reflections is the kind of training that many ministers, families, and congregations find hard to provide because of our fragmented lives, separated from one another rather than united in one body. I offer personal thanks, but I know many more have grown to love your heart and your daily walk in the presence of God.
