Caleb’s Story

Site created on November 26, 2019

Our 4th child is due on January 31, 2020, but we have a difficult road ahead of us. Our baby boy has been diagnosed with gastroschisis, a complex heart defect, enlarged kidneys, and is likely to have some variant of Trisomy 13. It's becoming more and more difficult to keep everyone up to date, so we plan to use this site to be able to provide updates on the pregnancy, our little one's arrival, and his and Ashley's condition and care following birth. We appreciate your support, encouragement, words of hope, and especially your prayers. Thank you for visiting!

Journal entry by Ryan Ash

Caleb Andrew Ash died early this morning. The last 3 years of our life have been incredibly difficult, but we're not the same people we were before Caleb. Caleb helped us learn to fight, to see the world differently, to not hold too tightly to things or people on earth, and most of all, to follow Jesus (wherever that takes us).

We've shed a lot of tears this morning, but we're filled with gratitude that our precious little boy is fully healed and with Jesus now!
