Journal entry by Cheri Woods (Kamps) —
Dustin shared this on Facebook so I thought I'd copy it to here.
Although this photo primarily represents the absolute unadulterated joy I experienced when ‘my person’, Shāe Trotter, married her beautiful partner, Sherilyn Guerrero, it also represents the state of my heart and mind after the last month since my car accident.
This photos represents gratefulness. I am grateful that my Father and I are alive and working toward a full recovery. This photo represents confidence. Confidence that in time I will return to my normal self, my body will heal and I will be able to let go of the trauma from the car accident that changed my life. This photo represents thankfulness. Thankfulness for the people who have stepped forward to support, love, and assist Drew and I with the massive life change that has come our way. This photo represents strength. Strength to trust that the human body is resilient and that I am still capable of amazing things. This photo represents humility. Humility to know that things could have been so much worse. This photo represents acceptance. Acceptance that events in life can be unexpected but allow you opportunities to build character and lean on others for their support.
Although I have a long road of recovery ahead of me, I wanted to make sure to acknowledge the unbelievable response from my friends and family near and far. Drew and I are humbled by how so many of you have shown up for the two of us, my Father, and our families. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!
🌈👬🏼🏔🥰🙌🏼
Also, Hashbrown and Biscuit love having their Dad’s home…they hang out with me during the morning and evening when I lounge in the zero gravity chair
