Journal entry by Helena Masar

Dusan had a clinic appointment on Friday July 26th. We get to the appointment and the schedulers states that we are 1 month too early. No, we were not. Dusan was supposed to have a follow up two weeks after surgery. The scheduler I talked to made a mistake. Ach... So, they rescheduled Dusan for Monday July 29th  because there are no doctors available o a Friday.Over the weekend Dusan really wanted to see what was behind the bandage so after hours of debating and 1 beer he decided to look. It was a white splint cast - so we really could not see anything. Than we wondered why we are going in for an appointment if no scans or x-rays are ordered. We went. They took the cast off and it looks like Frankstein's leg so I renamed him to FrankenDusan. They took out the stitches and he had an x-ray. He is now in a boot but still cannot put any weight on it. He can sit for longer periods. He even wanted to go visit his workplace and stop off to have some lunch out (Crossroads). We came home and he layed down. Within 5 minutes his big toe started hurting very badly. I massaged it and put some ice on it. It is ok now. His next appointment is August 22. I really cannot believe it has been a month that Dusan has stayed in bed. It will take 3-6 months for him
