Duane’s Story

Site created on April 5, 2020

Our dad was taken to the ER in Willmar on Monday, March 31. He was sent home with meds for pneumonia. Our mom received a call the following day to bring him to the hospital to be admitted due to labs coming back showing he had an infection in his blood. He was having more difficulty breathing on Wednesday, fever spiked and lots of coughing. Friday we found out his Covid-19 test was negative. He continued to get worse each day. He had a terrible day and night on Friday, then had a massive heart attack Saturday morning. He was airlifted to St Cloud. They put 2 stents in and he seemed to be doing better. He took a turn for the worse and our mom was called to come right away.  All 3 of us girls went, along with our husbands, to be near them. By near, I mean in the parking lot. It’s hard to even explain this experience other than it’s surreal.  They started Bipap and may need to start dialysis due to kidneys not working properly. More tests coming back tomorrow. He cannot take any phone calls at this point, but messages here would be greatly appreciated by all of us. Please continue to keep him in your prayers, we are thankful for each and every one.

The following is a link with details and also a video at the bottom if you'd like to view it.
