Journal entry by Mary Lou Forga —
Hello folks, it's been awhile, but we've been dealing with the cold winter . Things don't change much , & then they change a lot . So, Tom's been good lately . He's back to talking & almost holding a short conversation . Since staff have heard him speak, they are after him to talk . One day , they came into his room saying ' O.K. Tom we're going to get you up now.' He said, ' I guess I don't have a choice .' He's said yes & a few short answers, but that's all . I keep telling him, 'If you get tired of me talking, just tell me so.' He never does. Tom, & I ,spent a little over a week at St. John's hospital for his sodium level was high. They finally got that down & we returned. He still has the open area on his tailbone. It's slowly getting smaller. Thanks to the care of the nurses at Rose of Sharon .
We also heard that the house Doc we had moved on & we have another. We haven't met him yet, Dr. Middleton. So maybe this week we will get the pleasure . Tom has been going out to Abbott N.W. hospital to the wound clinic for treatment on his open area . We have an appt. the 28th of this month . By that time , I wouldn't be surprised if it was healed ! Then we'll work on getting his 'flap' replaced. Or the opening in his head . As Spring is coming, gives us energy to push on to getting him back into therapy . I think we all have ' cabin fever ' by now ! Well that's all for now . Good Bless & stay well .
