I hope you all are doing well and having a good summer. Tomorrow it will be 7 weeks since Dad died. It sometimes seems like it was much longer ago. We are doing pretty good.
I wanted to tell you all about the "Zero Prostate Cancer Run/Walk" in Minneapolis this fall. Brin employees are planning to participate. They have created a team and have started to fundraise. Anyone can join the team or donate. Bill Spiess is the employee who is organizing the team, and I've put his information letter below. Mom and I are planning to participate.

Did you know that one in nine American men will have prostate cancer during his lifetime? Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death among American men and is the most commonly diagnosed. The American Cancer Society estimates in its Cancer Facts & Figures 2019 report that 174,650 men will be told they have prostate cancer in 2019. Currently there are nearly 3.1 million American men living with the disease – roughly equal to the population of Chicago.
Join your coworkers, family members and friends in a 5k walk to support the fight against prostate cancer and to pay tribute to Doug Nelson, support his family and all those effected by cancer.
There are a few ways you can participate in this event:
Join Team Nelson: If you are able to participate in the 5k walk/run go to:www.zeroprostatecancerrun.org/twincities to join our Team. Go to the link and select ”register”, click on new account, select join a team, search for Team Nelson and select join. Fill out the registration form for the 5k and be sure to enter the correct discount code from below.
Discount code for family and friends: BRINFRIENDS19 (your amount due should be $25)
Note: Children under 9 years old do not need to register to participate in the 5K run/walk
Fill out your personal information and once you are registered you can start to raise funds for Team Nelson.
Donate: If you can’t participate in the event you can donate to Team Nelson and spread the word for others to donate to this cause. Go to www.zeroprostatecancerrun.org/twincities , select donate, search for a participant or Team Nelson and make a donation. We have set a goal to raise $5000 in donations for our team.
Volunteer: If you would like to volunteer to help during the event you can go to the link above and register for Team Nelson as a volunteer instead of a 5k participant.
