Dear Dr. Krenzer,

Our family has been following along with the last couple posts since Katie shared the news. We were never aware, until then how strong and courageous you, Doug and your entire family are. We just knew that your family has been dedicated to making life the best possible for our family and so many others for so many years! Knowing you both continued to do this with such heart and commitment even while facing your own struggles, makes both your dedication that much more courageous. Our hearts are heavy knowing the loss you, the kids and the rest of the family face right now but knowing Doug was able to spend these days where he felt safest and most loved, is a testament to the both of you and your family’s strength and love. There are no words really that can help all of you through this journey of loss and grief but hopefully knowing Doug no longer suffers and has left this world knowing how loved and appreciated he is by not just those closest to him but by an entire community, brings some sort of comfort along the way. May his memory be a blessing and may you and your family take comfort and strength from all those around you now sending prayers and holding you all close to our hearts.
With much love,
The Almeida Family🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Thank you for sharing those pictures. I am glad Audrey got to share that moment with Doug!! He has always been so proud of those kids! Remind them the separation is temporary and you all will be together again. Even as the Lord holds you all in your grief He is holding Doug in joy

Dear Keri, I never had the joy and privilege of meeting Douglas, or you, in person but as a friend of Gail's I have been following your journal entries from the beginning - first in Omaha and then back home in UK and praying daily for you both. Please know that such courage, fortitude, passion for life, lots of smiles in the pictures, and deep faith has been wonderfully amazing and an inspiration. Douglas' journey has touched many lives and if I may say I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to be part of it through your posts. My heart goes out to you even more now; may I offer you and your family my deepest condolences and I pray that you will feel surrounded and comforted by God's tender, sustaining love.
