Our hearts are broken. Even though you think you are steeled for this it doesn’t hurt any less. Doug suffered and we knew his future was bleak. We rest easier knowing he no longer is in pain and hoping there is plenty of fried chicken up there for him. As our friend Henry said we all share one of the saddest days in memory. OK. I've stopped crying long enough to write this... I've been dreading the day this message would come and praying it never did. Amos and I will sorely miss him but, as you said, he's not suffering anymore. Please let us know if there will be any memorial or gathering where we can toast him with a bottle of pinot grigio.
