Donald’s Story

Site created on April 7, 2019

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated on Don's upcoming surgery.

A few weeks ago, two masses were discovered on/near Don's left "native" (original) kidney.  He will have surgery on Wednesday, April 10th to remove the kidney and both masses.  Extra care will be taken to ensure his healthy transplanted kidney stays safe.  Updates will follow.

We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement.  Thank you for visiting!

Journal entry by Don and Barb Musch

Good Morning,
a bunch of information updates;
1. The mass connected to the kidney removed was cancerous.
2. The surgeon is highly confident that he got it all and I will need no chemo or radiation relating to this at any time in the future - 90%.
3. When readmitted with symptoms, they discovered I have some heart issues and I had a stent put in with a second one to probably be put in in June or July.
4. Recovery is a little slow but going well.
5. Trying to be back for some work on May 6.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers,
Don
