Donna’s Story

Donna started experiencing pain in her right leg back in April 2021. However she continued to live her life as normal, spending time with her family and directing a pregnancy resource center. As the pain worsened over the next several months, she consulted doctors. Donna and her doctors believed that the pain was due to vein issues in her leg, as she had experienced several years ago in her left leg, due to varicose veins. On August 16 2021, Donnas doctors performed a vein stripping surgery in hopes of resolving her right leg pain. In the several weeks after the vein stripping procedure, Donnas pain increased more and more, she was unable to stand or walk for long periods. Then on (insert date) as she was standing in the kitchen, suddenly that pain reached the point where it became unbearable. Donnas husband, Jay was able to help her to the bed and she was able to rest for a few hours. In the middle of the night, she tried to stand up and the pain was excruciating. She couldn’t even move. At that point, she realized something was very wrong and Jay and Donna’s daughter, Lauren, were able to help her sit down on the bed Where she remained for several hours until they realized that they needed to call 911. 


Upon arriving at Northeast Georgia Hospital, Donna finally got some answers. Tests showed that her intense pain was caused by a
