Sometimes a good country western song just says it best. A close friend was recently diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer. It did not look good. He told his wife and three sons and their families the somber report. I know them. They took it hard. But they are men of faith. I asked my friend if he'd considered James 5:14, prayer for the sick. He agreed to have us come and pray. When we got there he told us better news he'd gotten. He'd been referred to a doc who said he doesn't take hopeless cases, but fully intends that chemo and the October surgery will fix it. My friend is hopeful because he knows that whether or not he's given more years with his wife and family - whatever the future holds - there was Jesus. We're praying that despite the tough news and set backs, Donna and John will keep what they already know in the forefront. He's there. In the lyric from a popular worship song, "Even when I don't see it You're workin', even when I don't feel it You're workin'."
So much to reflect upon just in the past two years. You and Donna have walked a faithful and close walk with the Lord in all the years that I’ve known you. It is obvious how God has been with you every moment, every challenge, every answer to prayer. He is certainly worthy of praise and worship. I love you guys.
