Don’s Story

Site created on November 6, 2019

*Please ignore any request on this site for Donation funding as Don does not want any financial funding.*

In the spring, Don noticed that he had a lump on the side of his face and by the summer Don was diagnosed with squamous cell cancer. In July, Don had a surgery to remove the tumor on the left side of his face. At the time, the doctors wanted to wait until he had healed from the surgery to start radiation. However, the wound area did not heal and by September the tumor had grown back. On Monday, Oct 28, Don had a second surgery to remove the tumor and also remove several other cancer locations on his left shoulder.  This time, the doctors will not wait to start chemo and radiation. Don left the hospital on Nov 6th, and is settled back in his home. In the next several weeks, Don will start a radiation and chemo treatment plan. We will keep this site updated on when he will start treatment and how he is doing.

Currently, Don has the help that he needs. The treatment will go on for a few months and in the future Don may need additional help and at that point we will update the site and let folks know.
