Don’s Story

Site created on January 28, 2022

Don has been a fearless, kind, and caring presence in all of our lives. No words can express how much of an impact he has had on his family, community, and loved ones, which makes the news of his injury all the more difficult to process.

On January 26, 2022, Don was found by his wife, Pat, on the ground after falling from a ladder. He was working on his shop in the backyard. After being taken in for broken bones and some trauma, his condition worsened and has varied every few hours.

It's been difficult to communicate updates across platforms to the many who have reached out, so we have opened up this Caring Bridge account to keep you all updated. Thank you so much for visiting.

The link to the livestream service tomorrow is here (and below):

Don Ediger Memorial Service

First Baptist Church of Independence graciously agreed to do this for us and we are so thankful. I don't think we will be able to absorb much of what happens tomorrow, but we will be able to go back and watch the livestream in the future, and for that we are extremely thankful.

Life is going to be hard for awhile, trying to figure out how we function without my dad here. We are hoping that as you think of stories about my dad that you would continue to send an email to the donedigermemories@gmail.com account so we can continue to build our book. My dad was funny, full of life, adventurous, loving, but most of all a man of integrity who served his Lord about all others. He was one of a kind and I am going to miss him so much more than I could ever put into words. Thank you for walking this road with us - we love you.
