I will truly miss my Uncle Don. He was my inspiration all through life. I always wanted to live up to him. He will be forever missed. The greatest soul I ever knew. Goodbye Uncle Don, we will meet again someday. I bet you are drinking a cheap beer and swapping stories with Papa now. Miss you.

Dear Marilyn, I am so sorry to know that you have lost your dear husband - what a tremendous loss. Almost every room in our home has something that was put together ( book case, day bed) or repaired by Don. He was without a doubt one of the most generous and kind people I have had the pleasure of knowing and I will always remember him and his generosity. We had many great conversations over the years and I always enjoyed being around him and his wonderful smile. May your precious memories give you comfort in the days/weeks and months ahead ........much LOVE from Jan Gilbert

Dear Marilyn, I want to express my condolences to you, your family and friends. I always enjoyed the two of you in our neighborhood and how you both loved to contribute your talents to make our community better, and you did! Don was a real sweetheart and had a heart of gold. He will certainly be missed by many!

Hi Marilyn and thank you for your regular updates and posts. I've lost a dear friend and an amazing man, but retain all the great memories. I pray the grieving process is healing for you and the family. As I've done for many years, I wish him a Happy Birthday today as I know he is smiling down on us from above. God Bless.

Marilyn -- Leslie and I are so sad to hear the news about Don's passing. Glad that he was able to come home and be with the one's he loved. Don was such a good friend and always willing to help -- even if it meant putting up 54 mail boxes! His kind only comes a long once in a great while and I feel lucky to have know him. You were both such fun people to have in the neighborhood and I hope you know how much you both meant to all that know you.

Lani Wolfard: I accidentally hit send I guess??? I am thankful that Don did not have to suffer for years on end with this disease that is so incredibly cruel, and that you did not have to suffer with him in a long drawn out journey. My thoughts are with you and your family, Marilyn. I am so, so sad. You were one amazing partner to Don and had such an incredibly blessed life together. Love, Lani and Joe
