Newest Update

Journal entry by Craig Stott

I hope that this update finds you all healthy and ready to embrace the next season!  Dianne wanted to pass along her latest update.

Dianne writes:

For the second time in my life I have been blessed to hear the word “remission”!  It’s been a long challenging 7 months but here I am to celebrate how blessed I am with my husband, kids, grands, family, doctors, and legion of friends to support me through this journey!  Many of us diagnosed with cancer were never able to hear the word “remission” even once much less twice in a lifetime!!

My “end of treatment” CT showed no cancer and on Friday, and I will begin my maintenance protocol – a generic version of Avastin (Bevacizumab infused once every 3 weeks for as long as my body (and the insurance companies) will allow, designed to hold the cancer in check.  My body will have the opportunity to recover and regain strength.

I will also be starting with a new UPMC doctor, Dr. Kesterson.   My UPMC  Dr. Miller  (who’s been great!) is moving on to Sinai Hospital in Baltimore.  I learned that Dr. Kesterson is now with UPMC although he’s working within the restrictions of a “non-compete” clause for the time being and I will need to travel an hour+ to see him.  And of course, I will continue with my Johns Hopkins, Dr. Beavis.

Finally, how can I possibly even begin to say THANKS!?   Your support, prayers, and love  have meant the world to me!

Love to all and stay well.

Dianne and Craig
