Dianne’s Story

Site created on August 10, 2021

Dianne Rae Honermann was admitted to the Mayo Clinic Health System (previously Immanuel St. Joseph) hospital in Mankato, MN on Sunday, August 1st, 2021 where she was diagnosed with COVID-19. She was initially cared for in the PCU, but was moved to the ICU on Tuesday, August 10th where she was placed on a ventilator due to increasing exhaustion and difficulty breathing. On Tuesday, August 17th, despite indications that she had been improving, she suffered a stroke from which she did not recover. Her family continues to use this CaringBridge site to keep family and friends updated. Please feel free to add comments with any remembrances and well wishes to her family and friends that you have to offer. See the Journal page for the communications that were sent during her stay at the hospital and plans for celebrations of her life. A Memorial Mass service will be held at a future time when we feel it is safe to gather again; new journal entries will communicate those details when those plans are made.
